I enjoy the freedom of wearing my hair naturally--though I like all the other options available as well!

Tom Joyner talks to Nia Long on the Tom Joyner Morning Show tomorrow - bright and early at 7:45am ET. While I'm listening to her talk about "Good Hair" I'll be getting ready & doing my own hair!

What do you think of her interview last Friday? Ladies was she right about on-set stylists?

…..Ms. Lillian….sorry, but I have to do this. “your” creator G-d Almighty. No doubt G-d is the certainly almighty alpha and omega, But…my dear, G-d the heavenly father doesn’t JUST belong to you, sorry. Hate to burst your bubble, but if you’re going to say it, please say it right. He(G-d) is our father, every single human being on this planet. Black, brown, read, yellow, and poor white. He is even father to insane nutcases like good ol’ G.W. (the former president of you were confused). So, please don’t continue down this path that my Jewish family makes the mistake of doing most of the time (don’t get me wrong, I love my Jewish family but some of them are a few cards short of a deck if you know what I mean). Next, what do you mean “was dead”, I’m sorry….when did the Master die I must have seriously read my scripture wrong. If you’re referring to Christ, remember, Jesus is NOT G-d, he never claimed the position in fact the scriptures don’t even slap him with that label. Recognizing that G-d is a position and not a name, Jesus was give the position of Christ (crusher of the wicked for those of you who’ve been sleeping under a rock). Yes, the gospel DOES declare that Heaven belongs to Christ, but, it doesn’t knock Jehovah, Allah (which ever one you prefer, don’t matter) off His throw. The most the scripture say Jehovah the creator of all life is doing is in a way taking a break from making decision and has give authority of decision making to Jesus, being that they both think the same and all.

You say the whole world should dare to speak against wooly hair. Sister, only an idiot would attempt to say the straight hair is better than wooly hair or vis versa. Hair is hair. In fact if in Jesus day someone had come to him with such drama, I don’t even think he’d dignify their grip with a comment. In English what that means is, if you have wooly hair, or nature, whatever you want to call it, don’t allow small thinking to disrupt your harmony and peace of mind. I love you my dear sister with all my heart as I love all my sister black, brown, red, yellow, and white. I can’t just love Black sister because Black in 2009 is too diverse to be limited so I have to be inclusive of all the member of the universal sisterhood. Again, I love you, and as your brother and servant in the army of Allah I have to call out what I see as bad use of language when I see it, and I expect and welcome the same from you. You as well as the world wide sisterhood of essence are welcome to visit my column whatever page at:mikedeezee.blogspot.com any time and share your thoughts with me.

OH I SPEND 75.00 EACH TIME I GO GET MY HAIR DONE, ACTUALLY IT IS ONLY 60.00 BUT I GIVE MY BEAUTICIAN A TIP, BECAUSES SHE DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MY HAIR, PLUS SHE STARTED MY HAIR TO GROWING AGAIN WHEN ANOTHER BEAUTICIAN HAD USED A RELAXER THAT WAS TO STRONG FOR MY HAIR.

My hair was very short all the 30 years I worked. My father was always upset because he said for 20 years he made sure my sister and I took care of our long hair. I cut my hair off to my neck 2 weeks before getting married and I nearly didn't get married. Of course I had to let it grow back. Now I wear it shoulder length and no relaxer and I love it. I wet brush it with a hair gel and I am good to go. As you see by my pic my hair is usually up, but once in awhile it is down, but too much of a bother. I am 66 now and prefer it up or just pulled back. Hair is like dressing, you wear what makes you feel good on any given day. I am thankful God gave me the kind of hair I have and that's that! All hair is GOOD hair if it is cared for. This is another pic of me with my hair.
